Adult Sunday Morning Classes, Small Groups, and Fellowship
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
Sunday Morning Classes at Bethany UMC are learning and fellowship experiences that are highly valued and enjoyed by the majority of our adults. Meeting at the same time as our children and youth each Sunday from 9:40 – 10:40 a.m. in between worship services allows every person to participate in a class and grow in their understanding of the God’s Word. We offer a variety of adult classes based upon age, family life, or study topic which means no matter your personality, situation, or level of faith, there is a place for you! Simply show up on Sunday Morning!
Bethany UMC also encourages participation in small groups and fellowship opportunities that meet at times other than Sunday mornings in homes, coffee shops, or at the church for fellowship, encouragement, worship, prayer, Bible study, and group ministry and outreach activities. A small group is an intentional gathering, meeting regularly for the purpose of joining God’s mission and has its roots in the early Christian church and the Wesleyan foundation of the Methodist Church. Our fellowship opportunities give us a chance to meet others where they are and give us the opportunity to develop relationships and, ultimately, disciples, much as Jesus did when he met the woman at the well or the fishermen on their boat.
Working together with one another, our adult classes, groups, and fellowship opportunities make up the key for fruitful maturity and ministry. In other words, they are at the heart of our church’s mission to “KNOW Christ, GROW with others, and SHOW the world.”
