Doug Sonnenberg


Pastor Doug began serving as pastor of Bethany UMC in July 2013. Following graduation from Bowling Green State University, he worked for seven years in finance and accounting, then responded to a call from God he had been feeling for some time to begin pastoral ministry. While attending seminary he served as youth pastor at Centerville UMC. He then served as pastor in Portsmouth, Ohio at Franklin Ave. UMC, then at Loveland UMC before coming to Bethany UMC. He and his wife, Beth, have three grown sons. Pastor Doug enjoys golfing and playing the drums. He is passionate about being a follower of Jesus and leading others to do the same, expanding the Kingdom of God locally, nationally, and internationally.

Ann McClintock

Office Administrator

Ann began serving as Bethany’s Office Administrator in the fall of 2017.  With a background in IT, marketing and event planning, she felt equipped and ready to move in this new direction.  If you look closely, you may also see her on stage Sunday mornings during our Contemporary Service where she sings and plays bass guitar.   Ann and her husband, Brett, have two adult children living on the West Coast who they try to visit as often as possible.

Tracy Untener

Children's Ministries

Tracy has been Co-Director of Children’s Ministries at Bethany since 2003 and has been a teacher with Little Lambs Preschool since 2009. She is a graduate of Miami University, Ohio, and holds a master’s degree in Educational Psychology. Before she began serving at the church, she had a career in teaching special education. She and her husband, John, have 3 very active children. She is a firm believer in family ministry and works to partner with parents to form strong foundations of faith in their children. When she is not working or spending time with her family, she loves to settle down with a good mystery novel.

Ruth Clippinger

Children's Ministries

Ruth has been Co-Director of Children’s ministries since 2015. She also teaches at Little Lambs Preschool. Ruth and her husband Mark have been attending Bethany since 2002 and have 4 children. Ruth has a degree in Child and Adolescent Studies from the College of Wooster and holds a current teaching license. When not working with kids or helping with youth, Ruth and her family keep busy taking care of the many rescued pets that share their home.

Megan Brown

Youth Ministry

Megan Brown has been the Director of Youth and College Age Ministries since the summer of 2014. Prior to serving as Director she was the 5th-8th Grade Ministry Leader. She graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies. Megan was raised down the street in Monroe and growing up was a member of the youth group here at Bethany. Megan and her Husband James are huge Cincinnati Reds Fans and she counts her self lucky as he proposed to her in the dugout at Great American Ball Park. They welcomed their first child, Henry, into their lives in December 2014. Megan is secretly a ninja; she holds a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.

Laura Gregg

Adult Ministries Director

Laura began serving as the Director of Adult Ministry in 2016. After graduating from Wright State University with a Master’s in Education, Laura spent nine years teaching history and psychology at a high school in Dayton, Ohio. She and her husband of nine years, Justin, have two small children, Reagan and Gideon, who keep them very busy, but are their greatest blessings. It is through them, that God teaches some of His most powerful lessons of unending love and grace. When Laura’s not taking the kids on adventures to the museum, park, or the grocery store, she’s most likely to be found doing a rehab project around the house.

Janice Tenhundfeld

Director of Communications


Janice joined Bethany’s staff in October 2017 as Director of Communications.  With 20 years experience in IT, specifically software and Project Management, she has been very excited to switch gears and apply her skills to bring glory to God.  Janice spends much of her time with her favorite little people, her brood of 5 keep her busy!  As a wife and mother of 5, she believes strongly in giving grace.

Lori Goldberg

Little Lambs Preschool Director

Lori has been with the Little Lambs Preschool since it’s opening in January 2009. She is involved in our preschool Kids Aglow program, summer Vacation Bible Adventure, and has taught preschool Sunday School since 2006. Lori and her husband, David have been married for 27 years and have two active children. In her spare time, Lori enjoys reading and scrapbooking.
